OH MY GOSH.
This is not a manipulation. This is real. Google it.
“Who sing to me the sweetest song,
They sing thy name to me,
Patria, dearest! is it wrong
That thou so dear should’st be?”
OH WOW I remember the first time I saw this
it is still MINDMELTING
Do follow the link
And keep in mind
this was SPECIFICALLY WRITTEN to honor LINCOLN’S DEATH
FILK ABOUT ENJOLRAS WAS CONSIDERED APPROPRIATE PROFESSIONAL RESPONSE FOR A NATION IN MOURNING
don’t let anyone harsh your fanbuzz.
I just want to know if this means Lincoln was an Actual Fan of Les Mis/Enjolras or if the only connection was “hey patriotism!”
That sounds… as if Prouvaire wrote a melodramatic, heart-clutching spoof of Enjolras’s speeches. In iambic tetrameter and alternating rhyme.
Robert Plutchik created a wheel of emotions in 1980 which consisted of 8 basic emotions and 8 advanced emotions each composed of 2 basic ones.
Eight Basic Emotions
Basic Emotion ⇄ Basic Opposite
- Joy ⇄ Sadness
- Trust ⇄ Disgust
- Fear ⇄ Anger
- Surprise ⇄ Anticipation
Combination of Basic Emotions (A + B) = Advanced Human Emotions (Opposite Advanced Emotion in Parentheses)
- Anticipation + Joy = Optimism (Disapproval)
- Joy + Trust = Love (Remorse)
- Trust + Fear = Submission (Contempt)
- Fear + Surprise = Awe (Aggression)
- Surprise + Sadness = Disappointment (Optimism)
- Sadness + Disgust = Remorse (Love)
- Disgust + Anger = Contempt (Submission)
- Anger + Anticipation = Aggression (Awe)
I actually had this diagram from my psychology class and I started writing a series or fics based on all the emotions.
But this one is way more detailed I’ll have to save it.
I’m rebloging this for the sole reason that it looks like a flower.
"All you sucka MCs ain’t got nothing on me, from my grades to my rhymes you can’t touch Monsieur C. I’m a revolutionary, so nerd is inferred but forget what you heard I’m like James Bond the third. Shaken not stirred I’m Monsieur de C. The ‘de’ is silent when I sneak in your door. I make love to your woman on the bathroom floor. I don’t play like Shaggy, you’ll know it was me, cuz the next time you see her she’ll be like “ohhh, Monsieur C!"
(feel free to delete this comment if you really want to…)
Oh man. So everyone was crazy nice to me all at once today and I got a little bit overwhelmed… and in the end I just had to do a thing. So I did a thing… and this is that thing… and it is for you guys :)
Sure, it’s no sonnet 43, but I’ve never claimed to be a writer let alone a poet :P
(sorry about the fifth slide… I didn’t mean for there to be anything depressing here… but, well, it wouldn’t be Les Mis without it now would it?)
WHAT A PERFECTION.
